FOSTER HOMES URGENTLY NEEDED

Fostering is the back bone of our rescue. Without you we would have to kennel our dogs, pay hefty fees and never have the chance to interact and get to know them. 
Without you we cannot exist!

WHAT DOES A FOSTER HOME DO?

A foster is a temporary home for our dogs. The foster home, foster parents, will be responsible for basic housetraining, socialisation, health care, and temperament assessment of a placed pet. The foster family is the 'advocate' for the dog for potential adopters. We rely on our foster homes to assess the personality of the dog, identify any behavioral issues that need to be worked on, etc. Therefore, we like the dogs to be walked (how are they on the leash?), socialised with other pets and people, etc. The more information the foster home can provide us, the more likely the perfect placement for the dog is found. Fostering is a very fulfilling way to help out. If you've thought about adopting a dog, but aren't quite sure what breed is best for you, fostering is a wonderful way to try out different types of animals and determine whether they are suitable for your lifestyle. The more foster parents we have - the more dogs we can help!

how much does it cost?

Nothing. We provide everything! Food, bedding, collar and lead. A crate too if its required. All we ask is that you love and care for the dog as if your own. But any donations are gratefully received. 
All vet treatment is covered by us too.

do i get to choose which dog i foster?

Yes. This is all part of the application process and our initial meeting with you. You will tell us about your experience of dog ownership, what breeds you have owned, your training ability and what problems you can confidently manage and we will only place a dog with you that will make your experience totally enjoyable. For the dog too! 
You also have a say in the suitability of the prospective adopter. After all, you know this dog best. 


**Some rescue dogs are frightened when they first enter the foster home. Keep in mind they have likely been through a lot. Most are best introduced to the other dogs and/or cats and the family gradually and quietly and on neutral territory as a first assessment

how long will the foster dog be with me?

Dogs stay with you until they are adopted so this really does depend on the dog in your care. Obviously the young and cute pups gather more interest than the scarred oldies. Some dogs will need neutering operations so we will not let them go to their new homes until they are fully recovered. We would not want a dog to stay with you for too long and will do our best to promote our dogs nationwide.
